The nature of surf sports fields provide for social and community sports.They are naturally built and have been seriously threatened in the world permanently.
“ABOUT SURFING”
Surfing is a sport that does not distinguish race or social conditions. The waves and the natural fields where it is practiced makes the surf in a sport that integrates the societies of each country.
“ABOUT SURFERS AND THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO ENVIROMENT”
It is also important to note that since the waves are found in natural sporting arenas, surfers develop an important sense of responsibility to the environment, becoming the determining factor in the lifestyle of a surfer on the sports fields to protect surf and natural enviroments.

In the town of San Mateo a few miles from Manta, is one of the natural sporting arenas largest surf in South America.
We refer to the natural sport field of San Mateo, which is located in San Mateo.
SOCIAL ECONOMICAL REALITY IN SAN MATEO
The main activity of San Mateo is the fishing, we can say that 95% of economic resources generated by the population of San Mateo is derived from fish.
Likewise, Mateo received a significant number of athletes and tourists in the period from October to March, generating income in the population.

Considering that fishing is a natural resource exploitation.
Whereas due to the lack of policies and responsible actions in the artisanal fishery, the fishing activity in San Mateo, is an endangered activity in the medium term.

Considering that Ecuador has a heritage to protect: the sport field of San Mateo. Which is the same sport field that has been and will be used by athletes throughout the world for surfing, an activity that doesn’t harm natural resources…

The Olympic Committee of Ecuador COE considers appropriate to participate in the protection of the Sports Field of San Mateo.
But always considering the main economic activity of this town; fishing, and; That any infrastructure to be developed on the site are made to benefit this economic activity.
“PROJECT: SAVE THE WAVE OF SAN MATEO – NATURAL SPORT FIELD OF ECUADOR”
This decision was taken because of the threat of building a traditional fishing port which would endanger the conservation of this natural sport field for surfing.

OCEANOGRAPHIC FACTORS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT
There are factors that we hope will be considered, because failure to do so would have serious involvement in the environment, and therefore the population.
These factors are not seen with the naked eye but can cause serious problems in the long term as it has happened in places with similar geographical conditions.

In order to protect the natural sports field of SAN MATEO, we have conducted a survey of public opinion to measure the potential of this natural asset. Document are attached to the presentation.

SOME NATURAL SPORT FIELD WORLDWIDE
In the following slides we would submit several sports fields in the world surfing scenario. These waves provides social and economic development to the cities where they are located.
Most importantly of all: the cost for the construction of such natural fields is US$0, and also maintenance is US$0.

SURFING: ITS IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY
Waves provides health through out sport. They guarantee our community the practice of a very good sport: Surfing!
The waves provides economic resources through out sport and the good exploitation of natural resources.
In the very near future, waves will be a source of natural energy.
